As reported by the Miami Herald, Jungle Island’s theme park's owners, ESJ Capital Partners, have joined forces with renowned real estate developer Terra to launch a visionary project. The ambitious plan combines luxury living with vibrant green spaces, aiming to craft a unique residential experience intertwined with community-focused amenities.
Back in 2018, Miami voters greenlit ESJ Capital's expansion of Jungle Island, including a towering hotel, thrilling zip lines, and exhilarating water slides. Those plans have now taken a backseat to a more grandiose vision.
Revamped blueprint for Jungle Island
Now, the revamped blueprint for Jungle Island unveils a stunning 13-acre waterfront park, free for all, alongside a chic residential development on the remaining five acres. The remnants of Jungle Island could be open for visitors at no cost. The powerhouse development and investment firm plans to construct a vibrant boardwalk seamlessly linking the north side of Watson Island, home to Jungle Island, with the south side, where the Miami Children’s Museum resides—bridging the divide caused by the causeway.
The audacious new plan awaits approval from both the Miami City Commission and Miami voters this November.
